MiSTer SDRAM XS-DS v3.0 128MB Module

This Extra Slim (XS-DS) v3.0 official memory board provides 128MB of SDR SDRAM memory for cores requiring a large (>512KB) of memory including the Neo Geo core. Although the DE10-Nano has built in DDR3 RAM, it has a high latency and is not suitable for the timings required of retro EDO DRAM. So if a core requires precise memory timings, then the onboard DDR3 cannot be used.

All my Extra Slim (XS-DS) SDRAM memory boards have been checked under a microscope to ensure no solder bridges are present, then each 128MB SDRAM board is cleaned in an ultrasonic bath to remove flux residue. Every one of my memory modules uses the high quality Alliance memory chips paired with Taiyo Yuden branded capacitors on each board.

You can be confident knowing each 128MB SDRAM Extra Slim (XS-DS) v3.0 passes at 140MHz-150MHz with the official MiSTer MemTest Utility (126 MHz is the fastest any current core needs). Also each memory module is then soak tested with Jotego’s 48MHz and 96MHz SDRAM test cores. Finally live tests are performed with the Neo Geo core, Acorn Archimedes (Archie) core, Game Boy Advance core, Sega Mega CD core and in Neo Geo games including Metal Slug 3 and the Bad Apple Neo Geo demo which require a 128MB module to play, these extensive tests ensures no issues are present.
